Reunion.2

So I mentioned a while back that Keith's college band was having a reunion show, so I thought it was about time to share some photos from the event. I also have videos, if anyone is interested in watching the madness haha

To Keith: I'm so proud of all the hard work that you put in to make this show happen. I know it wasn't always the most fun, but in the end I know you had a great time, and there were a lot of people who really appreciated getting to see you again for one last time.

and now here are some awesome photographs from the show that they played in Cincinnati at The 86 Club. I got these photos from their Facebook page:

Climbing Day

Last weekend Keith and I got a chance to relax and just catch up on some things around the house (which are all still slightly unfinished) and on Saturday in an effort to try something new we flipped through our coupon book and decided to meet some friends down in Murfreesboro to go rock climbing. We love spending time with Brittney and Brandon and we had a blast at the climbing gym (even though it was my very first time and everyone had to be patient with me) Now I'm pretty pumped to go back again soon! After an evening of climbing we got dinner at a pub nearby and went back to their place to hang out around the firepit. Thanks Bergers for another great weekend!

He kept trying to get me to spiderman kiss him haha

Brittney was a champion and climbed the craziest course of the night

and while the boys were out back smoking cigars, we MIGHT have placed just dance on the wii

Reunion

Tonight is the night. Months in the making, and not without drama, Keith's college band Sophia is playing a reunion show at Rocketown tonight and I am so excited to see how excited he is for it. I've seen them play at Rocketown (at the old location) twice before and it's an adventure every time! I wish that I had photos I could share, but I think I've lost my iPhoto library about 4 times since then haha. Here's to tonight and seeing my husband turn into a little kid again running around on stage like a rockstar :)

Florida

If there's one thing that I can name that has really fallen off since I started teaching full time, I would say that it is blogging and really reflecting on what is going on in our lives presently. It's a bit of a bummer that I don't feel like I'm capturing these moments as much, but I also know that at the end of a long day my priority is relaxing on the couch and spending time with Keith rather than sitting at my computer all night long.

Regardless, let's talk about Florida. Obviously that's where I grew up and it's a place that's very special to me. It's also a place that is not very close to Tennessee, and in general, Tennessee lacks something very specific that Florida has in abundance... which is beaches. After what has felt like a lifetime of not seeing any oceans or sand, Keith and I took a long weekend vacation down to Destin, Florida for Labor Day! This trip came about pretty randomly, and last minute as we were scrambling to figure out how we would take a trip for our anniversary. Keith had a few surprises in mind, but when we talked more our real desire was to find the closest beach, and to park ourselves in the sand for a few days without any other plans. Thankfully my parents helped us to make that a reality and last Friday afterwork we drove 8 hours through the night and landed next to the ocean in Florida. In my mind, the greatest thing about it was that we haven't taken a trip like this since our honeymoon two years ago. Yes, we take lots of trips and go out of town quite often, but it usually revolves around visiting family or friends. As great as that is, we have figured out by now that it's equally important to take trips just for US. What a refreshing weekend! No plans except to spend as much time in the ocean as possible and to eat the best food we could find. I would go back in a heartbeat! Keith seriously had to drag me away on Monday, and then I spent the rest of the day in a funk that we had to go home. Still though, I'm so glad that we got to get away for a bit, relax, and recharge. I hope that we can make time to do more things like this every year!

Here are some photos from our trip:
